When I first heard of this congregation I thought what an interesting name to pick for themselves. The Tree of life has 2 major appearances in the Bible. The first is in the beginning of the Bible in Genesis chapters 2 and 3 it was there in the Garden of Eden to give Adam and then Eve to sustain their lives. Once Adam and Eve disobeyed God they sent out of the Garden and cut off of the Tree of Life. By this action death entered into God’ creation.
The Tree of Life then appears again, but this time in the book of Revelation (chapter 22 verse 14). It is now in heaven and all who are there have access to it.
The Tree of Life is really a beautiful icon of the entire Bible. We had life, we lost life, God restored life for us and gives us the assurance of life ever lasting!
We at Tree of Life live this awareness. We each are sinners living a new life in God’s forgiveness. A gift He gives us, not by our works, but by His grace. You are welcome to come and learn more about His love and His forgiveness for all people!
