The Recessional Hymn is “Oh, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing”.  The words are from Charles Wesley and the Music by John B, Dykes . Dykes composed many hymn tunes including “Holy, Holy, Holy.”. Yes, we sang this last week, but it is wonderful for the readings we have this week, as well.

This hymn comes from the German Moravian tradition of hymns.  It is based on a statement attributed to a Moravian hymn writer who expressed that “Had I a thousand tongues, I would praise Christ Jesus with them.”
We sing “Oh, for a Thousand Tongues to Sing” as we worship in this season of Epiphany.  Mark the words “Tis music to the sinners’ ear, ’tis life and health, and peace.”

May you be blessed by these words as we go from this place in joy and peace.
